Master Builders Insurance Brokers has been a trusted name in construction insurance for decades, providing tailored coverage and advice to builders, contractors and trades across Australia.

After almost a decade of partnership, MBIB engaged The Refinery to help reimagine its brand for a changing market and position the business for future growth.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, we developed a comprehensive brand blueprint that captured the organisation’s vision, promise and values, while setting a clear direction for the future.

To bring the new strategy to life, The Refinery created an extensive suite of brand assets that formed the foundation of MBIB’s communications.

These included carefully crafted positioning statements, points of difference tailored to specific customer segments, a refined method for branding imagery, and a bespoke set of product and service icons.

Together, these assets provided MBIB with the tools to communicate consistently and effectively while reinforcing the brand’s unique authority in the construction insurance space.

The new strategy placed MBIB’s people at the centre, positioning staff as visible industry specialists and trusted advisors.

Rather than focusing on insurance products, communications highlighted the service offering unique to MBIB such as personalised advice, efficient claims management and responsive support.

Customers were brought into view through testimonials and imagery, while the tone of voice shifted to a bold and authoritative style that reflected MBIB’s expertise and personality.

A detailed set of brand guidelines was created to unify the organisation’s communications across every touchpoint.

These guidelines covered everything from logo, typography and imagery to digital applications and customer experience.

The rebrand launched nationally with a full suite of collateral including brochures, stationery, policy documents, signage, EDMs, press ads, photography, social content and digital advertising campaigns, anchored by a redesigned website that streamlined client interactions and delivered a market-leading online experience.
